What are you making room for?
Pick the one that comes closest. We’ll show you the sizes that tend to suit, and you can take it from there.

Family
We recommend the 7.5 m or 8.7 m
An adult child, growing family or someone who simply needs a little more room. Add a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living space without adding onto the house.
Indicative only. The right size depends on your site and who's using it.

An ageing parent
We recommend the 7.5 m or 8.7 m
A proper bedroom, bathroom and living space only a few steps from the house. Level access, a wide door and a large wet shower can all be planned around the person using it.
Indicative only. The right size depends on your site and who's using it.

Work
We recommend the 5.1 m, or 7.5 m with a separate room
A quiet, insulated room away from the house, with power, lighting and space to get on with the job. Use it as an office, studio, consulting room or workshop.
Indicative only. The right size depends on your site and who's using it.

Guests
We recommend the 5.1 m, or 7.5 m for longer stays
Give family and friends their own warm, private place to stay, complete with a bathroom and kitchen. Fold-away beds can leave the room useful between visits.
Indicative only. The right size depends on your site and who's using it.

Income
We recommend the 7.5 m or 8.7 m
A self-contained cabin can give you a separate space for rental or other income with its own kitchen and bathroom as standard.
Indicative only. The right size depends on your site and who's using it.

Holiday
We recommend the 7.5 m or 8.7 m
Fibreglass won’t rust or rot, and the marine gel coat never needs painting. Just the thing for a coastal getaway or somewhere you would rather spend your time relaxing than maintaining.
Indicative only. The right size depends on your site and who's using it.

Pacific Cabins are made from UV-stabilised fibreglass with a German marine gel coat, the same kind of finish used on boat hulls.
They won’t rust, rot or corrode. R5 polyurethane insulation keeps the temperature comfortable through summer and winter, while a galvanised steel chassis provides the structure underneath.
There’s very little to maintain, and very little to worry about.
That’s why we expect a Pacific Cabin to still be doing its job at least fifty years from now.

What our clients say
Ten years on, they still look brand new.
I purchased a 7.5 metre self-contained cabin in February from Pacific Cabins as I needed a more affordable living situation. I have been living in my cabin for 12 weeks now and really enjoying it. It’s practical, convenient, cosy and a very cost effective way to live. Very impressed by Dave’s professionalism and attentiveness. I highly recommend Pacific Cabins.
Kylie· Auckland I have been an owner of one of these cabins for nearly a year now. My daughter lives in it and loves it to bits. It is easy to clean, has a great shower, and has everything she requires. I have no hesitation in recommending this cabin to anyone who may be interested in buying one. The price is really good as well as I looked for over a year and could not find anything in this price range. I’m very satisfied with what Pacific Cabins has given me.
Tom· Rotorua Our cabin was specifically made to fit perfectly on our existing property for extra space for our family. We were able to separate the cabin with two sleeping areas and one living area as we chose not to include a kitchenette, bath and toilet. Cabin is very sturdy, cosy, spacious for our family of four + dog and can withstand all sorts of weather conditions.

Show details ›Questions people ask first
What size will suit me?
Start with who it's for and how it will be used. A guest room, a home office or a studio with a bathroom suits the 5.1 m. Someone living in it properly, with a bedroom and a real living space, wants the 7.5 m. For more than one person, or two separate sleeping areas, go to the 8.7 m. If none of the three fits your site, we build shorter and longer to order.
What's included in the starting price?
The complete price includes GST, the cabin itself, and the bathroom and kitchen in full: a toilet, vanity, large wet shower and wall shelving in the bathroom; a kitchen unit, under-bench fridge, TV and shelving above in the kitchen. Each size is also available without the bathroom and kitchen for less, if you already have facilities nearby. Delivery is quoted separately once we know where your cabin is going, and made-to-order sizes are priced on enquiry.
Can I customize windows, doors, and interior layouts?
Absolutely! We encourage you to personalize your cabin to make it truly yours. Whether it’s rearranging the layout, choosing different window styles, or selecting unique door options, we’re here to make your vision a reality. Just let us know what you’re thinking, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your requests.
How long does it take to build my cabin?
On average, the construction of your cabin will take one to three weeks. This timeframe can vary slightly depending on our current project queue and the complexity of your cabin’s design. Fill out our enquiry form or call us on 02 7686 8082 to confirm our current wait time.
Rest assured; we prioritize efficiency without compromising on quality.
Is a building consent necessary?
No, building consents are not required for Pacific Cabins. Our designs comply with regulations that allow them to be classified in a way that avoids the additional time and expense of obtaining a building consent, making the process smoother and more cost-effective for you.
How do you deliver the cabin to our place?
We deliver the cabin directly to your property and securely position it on a sturdy timber post base, elevated approximately 20 cm above the ground for optimal stability. Should the access be challenging, we have the flexibility to either manoeuvre it into place or employ a Hiab truck-mounted crane for precision placement. Rest assured; we can facilitate the lift into virtually any location with ease.
